Painting: JMW Turner
The sky above our home today is the heavy grey of spring, all soft rain and fecundity, all light but no blue. The sun is up there somewhere, behind the curtain, but it would be hard to point to it.
One of those days where the light is lonely, even though there’s life bursting forth all around.
It made me think of the works of JMW Turner, so here’s his Study of Sunlight, which has very little sunlight and quite a bit of solitude. I think the spots are from age, but they make the image look rain spattered.
